Richie beginnt damit, dass er dem Zuschauer grundlegende rhythmische Muster des Bongospiels zeigt (solche wie den Martillo Rhythmus). Er spielt Timbales, Maracas, Guiro und Cowbell und erklärt dabei ihren Platz einer Latin Rhythmusgruppe.
Als ein erfahrener Spieler und Musiklehrer, führt Richie durch die Basis-Rhythmusübungen, und bringt uns auf logische Weise aufbauend, den schwierigeren und komplizierteren Rhythmen näher.
Das Video enthält Play-along Übungen, zum Mitspielen und um jedes Instrument zusammen mit der Band zu üben, alleine als auch zusammen mit Richie.
Das beigelegte Übungsbuch enthält Noten für die Übungen, die auf dem Video gespielt werden, aber auch zusätzliche weiterführende Lektionen.

Richie begins by showing the viewer essential patterns used in playing bongo (such as the Martillo rhythm), timbales , maracas, guiro and cowbell, while explaining their place in the context of a Latin rhythm section. An experienced professional player and music instructor, Richie takes the viewer through the basic rhythm exercises, working logically towards the more intricate patterns.
The video includes play-along exercises for practicing each instrument along with the band, ()both with Richie and alone). The enclosed exercise book includes musical notation of the exercises played in the video, as well as additional lessons for developing technique.

Eric Thomas, französischer Künstler und Musiklehrer ist ein begnadeter Schlagzeuger und Percussionist. Er fühlt sich, mit gleicher Hingabe zu Hause in verschiedenen Stilrichtungen, egal ob Latin, Jazz, Funk oder sogar Techno. 1986 studierte er Percussion in Los Angeles am "Percussion Institute of Technology", das viele Weltklasse-Musiker besuchten.
Er bereiste Kuba und Brasilien, schrieb Lehrbücher und produzierte Videos für Schlagzeug und Percussion, das neueste ist "Learn to play the African Djembe in World Music Settings".
Eric ist in Frankreich und Europa mit zahlreichen Künstlern und Bands aufgetreten.
Er trat auf beim Londoner "Rhythm Sticks Festival 2000" mit "Planet Drum" und bei den BBC Proms in der Royal Albert Hall mit Rapataka aus Manchester.

Eric Thomas, french performer and music teacher is a versatile drummer and percussionist who plays Latin, Jazz, Funk or Techno with equal ease and has performed for over 20 consectutive years. He studied percussion in 1986 at the "Percussion Institute of Technology" in Los Angeles with such world class musicians as Efrain Toro, Steve Houghton, Malando Gassama, Ralph Humphrey, Joe Porcaro…and has travelled in Cuba and Brasil. He has written 8 educational books and produced videos on drums and hand percussions, the latest being "Learn to play the African Djembe in World Music Settings".

He has performed in France and in Europe with numerous artists and bands.
He recently appeared at the London "Rhythm Sticks Festival 2000" with "Planet Drum" and at the BBC proms at the Royal Albert Hall with Rapataka from Manchester.
